The Seventh Seal

In 1957 Ingmar Bergman made a film about a knight who on returning to a plague-ridden home, ends up in a game of chess with Death. The whole thing is available on YouTube. The film is famous for the scene where Death and the knight play chess atop a cliff.

That famous cliff is in Skåne, southern Sweden. A coastal area called Hovs Hallar.

It's not a particularly nice beach by tropical standards. It's very rocky. It sometimes is infested with (harmless) jellyfish. And, because it's Sweden, it's often very cold.

When we visited it was delightfully warm and calm. And jellyfishless.

The highlight of this swimming spot, is the cliff-jumping. Cliffs of various heights, over deep and clear water, means that people of all levels of bravery, fearlessness, or foolishness can partake.

Don't forget to check the depth first.
